Plant Audits
As world class experts in gravity-gold circuits we provide plant audits of processing plants at operating mine sites, either in-person or remotely in coordination with operators and metallurgical staff. Test work on the sampled streams can be conducted on-site with training or shipped to Sepro Labs (depending on equipment availability).
What We Do
Sepro Labs has developed extensive expertise in the application of centrifugal concentrators within gravity circuits by working closely with the manufacturer of Falcon centrifugal concentrators: Sepro Mineral Systems.
As a result of this experience, Sepro Labs has developed a proprietary mathematical model capable of predicting gravity recoverable gold (GRG) recovery in grinding circuits using centrifugal concentrators. The model incorporates the size profile of the GRG and and is adaptable to various circuit designs.
With decades of experience in mineral processing and plant reviews, Sepro Labs offers a convenient solution for operations looking to optimize their plant, increase production and improve recoveries. In coordination with plant operators and metallurgists, Sepro Labs will organize sampling programs and conduct metallurgical tests on-site or at our facilities in Langley, BC.
For evaluating the potential addition of Falcon concentrator(s) to an existing circuit, Sepro Labs will review plant flowsheets with plant metallurgists to confirm the most suitable locations for sampling GRG test material and potential Falcon installation sites. We will use the GRG characterization from testing to mathematically model the circuit to predict gold recovery from the Falcon under multiple scenarios. Furthermore, we may conduct additional modeling and/or testwork to predict the overall gold recovery benefits, considering downstream processes.
For circuits that already incorporate centrifugal concentrator(s), Sepro Labs can conduct a gravity circuit audit to determine the current gold recovery performance. The results are then compared to our modeling predictions, and used for troubleshooting to determine any causes of lost performance. Common areas to investigate include cyclone GRG efficiency, gravity feed screen efficiency, concentrator stage recovery, plant operating conditions, and plant design.
Producing mines can benefit from utilizing Sepro Labs as a consulting laboratory in place of installing an on-site metallurgical facility. For clients with existing on-site metallurgical facilities, we offer assistance with on-site metallurgical testwork and training, helping to address staff shortages, reduce lead times, and manage temporary increases in testwork volume. Additionally our clients gain access to a network of experienced engineers, mineralogists, and project managers with decades of production experience to ensure that all analysis, reporting, and recommendations provide the most benefit to the client.
